Victoria Clairmont Obituary

Victoria Anne (McCormick) Clairmont, the daughter of Norman and LaVieve (Bethscheider) McCormick, was born on June 30, 1948, in Oakland, California. She went to her Heavenly Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in Superior, Ne at the age of 75, she was surrounded by the love of her family.

Vici had the opportunity to live in many different states, California, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, and Arkansas. Which her favorite was the beautiful Ozarks. From the first time she traveled to Branson, Mo she fell in love with that part of the country. She lived there for several years and enjoyed a few visits back to Branson, Mo after returning to Nebraska to be closer to her family.

Most of Vici’s life she was a homemaker. Later in life she cleaned elderly people’s homes and worked in a restaurant in Arkansas and as a dietician aide at the Good Samaritan in Nelson and Superior for several years. She kept a very neat and tidy house. If she was not up cleaning, then you would see her in her recliner with a glass of water or ice- tea beside her and always a note pad to jot down a thought or add to the grocery list so she would not forget. While sitting she would watch her favorite shows. All though she enjoyed her tv programs, she never allowed her hands to be idle while watching. She would crochet beautiful doilies, table clothes, and even bedspreads out of thread that she would purchase from the local Ben Franklin store there in Hebron or later when Wal-Mart became an option. She became a master at crocheting that her late Sister-in-law, Marlys Carter suggested for her to send some to Colorado for her to put in a store to sell, and that she did.

Her family always enjoyed her cooking, all except some family members, when it came to liver and onions. She always said, “you have to try it once” and for some, that was all it took. But besides making delicious meals and crocheting beautiful items she loved listening to the music, she was one of those avid Elvis Presley fans and even attended 2 of his concerts, which one was his second to his last concert. She enjoyed camping, waterskiing, her many pets through the years. reading, traveling with family, playing her games on her computer, gardening, flowers and watching and feeding birds and especially hummingbirds.

Even though Vici grew up with religion, she found that there was still something missing. And that was a personal relationship with the Lord. She accepted the Lord as her Lord and Savior and served Him the rest of the days of her life with all her heart. Any time she was to ask to pray, she would write it down on a little colored recipe card with the date and was so faithful to pray and Thank the Lord, because she knew He was faithful. When moving to Superior, Ne she became a member of Living Faith Fellowship Church. She Loved the Lord first but her family was her second love. She loved and cherished them with every inch of her being.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step- Father Philip Merriman, and grandson Jace Williams.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Laurie Nabity and Todd Nelson of Hastings, Ne, Melissa (Keith) Wilt of Superior Ne and Toni (Andrew) Bargen of Burr Oak, Ks. A sister, Philis McMains of Nelson, Ne, brother, Richard Merriman of Yerington, Nv, 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and her Best Friend from high school, Vicky (Tim) Heinrichs of Marietta, Ga, nieces, great nieces and nephews and friends.

Memorial services will be held Friday, 11:00 am, March 22, 2024, at the Living Faith Fellowship Church in Superior, Nebraska with the Rev. Jon Albrecht officiating.
A private family interment will be held at a later date.
