Phyllis was baptized March 7, 1937 and confirmed March 30, 1947 at the First Methodist Church. She grew up in Geneva and graduated from Geneva High School with the class of 1955.

Phyllis was united in marriage to Lawrence Traudt on March 11, 1956, in Geneva, by Pastor F.E. Foutz at the First Methodist Church. This union was blessed with the birth of daughters, Lorene and Lois.

Lawrence and Phyllis moved to Hebron from Sutton in 1965. Phyllis worked at Western Auto, Christensen Rexall Drug and as a Cook at the Hebron High School. In 1971, Lawrence and Phyllis opened Traudt’s Sheet Metal. They worked together in the business until 1993, when they sold the business to Jaye and Sheena Moeller. Phyllis was a member of the Hebron Fireman’s Auxillary, American Legion Auxillary Saxton Post 180, and P.E.O. Chapter IQ. Phyllis was a member of the United Methodist Church for 55 years.
