Norman L. Lunzmann of Deshler, NE the son of John and Edna (Peters) Lunzmann was born June 6, 1936 in Byron, NE. He departed this life Monday, September 28, 2020 at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler, NE at the age of 84 years.

Norm grew up on a farm at rural Byron attending District #64 School through the 8th grade. He left school because his dad needed his help on the farm.

Norm entered the United States Army in July 29, 1958 and was honorably discharged July 19, 1960. He returned home to farm and continued farming all of his life even hauling fat cattle with his brother all the way to Omaha, NE in a straight truck.

He married Rosella Gerberding October 19, 1975 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE. Norman and Rosella went everywhere together, and enjoying each others company especially playing cards with friends and neighbors.

Norm was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church rural Byron, NE and Deshler American Legion. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosella in 2011, infant brother Raymond and brother-in-law Robert Finke.

He is survived by his brother Arlen and wife Ines of Byron, NE, one sister-in-law Louisa Fintel and brother-in-law Russ Gerberding and wife Marla all of Deshler, NE, two nephews; Scott Finke and wife Marla, Bruce Finke and wife Tami both of Deshler, NE, two nieces; Gina Hudson and husband Bill of Belvidere, NE and Shana Gerberding of Deshler, NE, great nieces and nephews; Kolby and wife Anna, Brett, and Jana Finke, Heath and Hutch Finke, and Ethan, TaraLee, and JessaLynn Hudson, great-great nephews Mason, Duncan, and William Finke, other relatives and a host of friends.

Private Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020 at St. Peter Lutheran Church rural Byron, NE. Officiant Pastor Breen Sipes, Visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2020 3PM to 7PM at Kroll Funeral Home in Deshler. Organist Crystal Krenke, hymns; “One Day At A Time”, “Children Of The Heavenly Father” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”. Casket bearers; Kolby, Brett, and Jana Finke, Heath, and Hutch Finke, Ethan, TaraLee, and JessaLynn Hudson. Honorary casket bearers; Brad Krenke, Jerry Marquart, Jim Gehle, Tom Gebers, Steve Gebers, and Dave Gebers. Public interment at Deshler City Cemetery in Deshler, NE at 11AM.
