Nellie F. Beavers the daughter of Charles and Frieda O'Neal was born August 31, 1909 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 96 years.
Her father worked on the railroad in different parts of Missouri but when Nellie turned three years old, the family moved to Bellville, Kansas to take up farming and raise their children. From Kansas they moved to an area near Chester and Hubbell, they farmed and Nellie was always there to help her parents during the seasons. Nellie met Wes Beavers during the depression and dated him only four months before marriage so Wes could keep his job on construction. Nellie married Wes Beavers on April 21, 1934 in Lincoln, Nebraska and resided in Hebron for their life together and joys of marriage. Nellie and Wes celebrated their 71 year wedding anniversary on April 21, 2005. This union was blessed with three daughters Bonna Jane and Donna Jean(twins) and 20 years later Judy Lee.
Nellie was a loving wife and homemaker and everyone enjoyed all the home baked goodies especially the delicious bread. She also worked at Central Market, Standard Market and Paul's Market, and Blue Valley Care Home all in Hebron. She was very active in church and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was so grateful for the wonderful care the nurses gave her and the girls that cared for her as well. God bless all the employees who really care at Blue Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Frieda, her husband Wes on August 16, 2005, three brothers, Louie, John, and Hank O'Neal, sister Lula Carpenter, daughter Bonna Jane Mehel, granddaughters Rebecca Tracy and Pamula Jean Beavers, and nephew Harold O'Neal.
She is survived by two daughters Donna J. Cline of Chula Vista, California and Judy Tracy and husband Wes of Hebron, Nebraska, seven grandchildren, Robert Cline and wife Dawn of North Carolina, Patricia Laughlin and husband Al of Minnesota, Priscilla Laughlin and husband Walter of North Carolina, Kelly Norberg of Colorado. Kathleen Keefe of Colorado, Richard Tracy and wife Elizebeth of Lincoln, Nebraska, Rachelle Myers and husband Brent of Broken Bow, Nebraska, 14 great-grandchildren, and 7great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Hebron Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Hebron. Officiant Pastor John Walton, organist Ila Currey, congregational hymns "Amazing Grace" " Because He Lives", casket bearers were Wes Tracy, Richard Tracy, Brent Meyers, Eldon Kassebaum, Marlow Huber, Marlin Bauhard. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 18 from 9 am to 7 pm at Hebron Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hebron. Memorials to family's choice. Hebron Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
