Morris Albert Mau of Alexandria, NE the son of William Herman and Minna Otillia (Manthey) Mau was born June 2, 1926 on a farm near Sutton, NE. He departed this life Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler, NE at the age of 94 years.

Morris attended country school near Sutton and graduated from Sutton High School.

He felt like he needed to join the war effort and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp on January 30, 1945. He saw service in the Pacific Area from July 18, 1945 to August 26, 1936 and participated in the Japanese invasion and the occupation of China May 13, 1946 to August 13, 1946. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marines October 10, 1946. He was a member of the American Legion for 75 years.

He returned home to the Sutton area to start farming and his life-long love of raising cattle. He always preferred the title of Rancher.

On July 16, 1948 he married the love of his life Betty Maxiene Baker in Hastings, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of four children David, Terry, Deborah, and Randy. Sadly he lost is young wife Betty due to a heart attack at age 26 on June 19, 1957.

In 1963 he bought a farm near Alexandria, NE which he called Spring Ranch. He raised Charolais Cattle and then Angus in later years. His idea of the best way to start each day was to watch his calves frolic. That’s life he would always say. He continued to live on the farm until his health declined in 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, two brothers Raymond and Dale, sister Genevieve Nuss and grandson Jeffery Mau.

He is survived by his four children; David Mau of Fairbury, NE, Terry Mau and wife Marylou, Randy Mau and wife Peggy all of Alexandria and Deborah Hintz and husband Keith of Deshler, NE, grandchildren; Jason Hintz and wife Lisa, Justin Hintz and wife Toni, Ashleigh McBride and husband Jeffery of Deshler, NE, Joshua Hintz and special friend Hang Burkey of Milford, NE, Tonya Struble and husband Mark of Aberdeen, SD, Nicholas Mau of Fairbury, NE, Micheal Eich of Scottsbluff, NE and Jasimine Slezak and husband Shane of Milligan. NE, great-grandchildren; Emmit and Addyson Hintz, Anthany and Kristopher Collins, Ladon Hintz, Kaleesha McBride, Alexis and Tyce Mau, Noah Bradley, Lily Jeffries, Hannah, Sadi and Madelyn Struble; one sister Maxiene Linder of Alexandria, NE, nieces, nephews and friends.

Following Morris’ wishes, he was cremated and a graveside service will be held Saturday April 10, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Sutton City Cemetery in Sutton, NE.
