  Melvern Lee Naiman of Belvidere, NE the son of Melvin and Phyllis (Payne) Naiman was born May 2, 1944 in Alexandria, NE.  He departed this life Monday, February 6, 2023 at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron, NE at the age of 78 years.

 Melvern grew up in the Belvidere-Bruning area attending grade school in Belvidere, NE and graduated from Bruning High School.

 He was baptized October 1944 in Gilead, NE and confirmed August 9, 1964 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE.

 He married Donna Worm April 12, 1964 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE.  This union was blessed with three children.

 Melvern worked 27 years for the Thayer County Road Department, operating a road maintainer taking care of roads in the county until his retirement.

 He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE and Belvidere Volunteer Fire Department where he was instrumental in building the new fire station and raising funds for new equipment.

 Spending time with his family was on the top of Melvern’s list especially the grandchildren.  He like  attending all of the school activities.

 After retirement you could find Melvern working on small engines out in the shop, fixing the kids’ and grandkids’ cars, gardening, enjoyed playing carpenter, and working on their family home.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Judy Jasperson and husband Roger.

 He is survived by his wife Donna of Belvidere, NE, son Mitchell Naiman of York, NE, two daughters, Melody Turpin and husband Michael of Bassett, NE and Michelle Sybrant of Bruning, NE, grandchildren; Preston Sybrant of Fairbury, NE, Samantha Sybrant of Hastings, NE, and Adam Turpin of Bassett, NE, other family members, and a host of friends.

 Funeral services will be held Friday, February 10, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE at 11 AM.  Officiant will be Pastor Keith Brozek, organist Brenda Striggow, congregational hymns “How Great Thou Art”, “Amazing Grace” and “In The Garden”.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron, NE 2-6 PM. Casket bearers Randy Waldmeier, Steve Higel, Kelly Wagner, Scott Effenbeck, Charlie Ough, and John Lange. Burial will be in the Belvidere Cemetery Belvidere, NE.  Memorials in care of the family.  The family would prefer causal dress at the funeral.  Condolences may be left at www.krollfh.com.  Kroll Funeral Home of Hebron, NE is in charge of arrangements.
