Marla Jean(Hoops)Gehle-Braithwait was born on November 1st, 1944 to Edwin and Ruby (Meyer) Hoops on a farm near Chester, NE. She went to be with her Heavenly Father, May 29th, 2021 at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron, NE, at the age of 76.

Marla was baptized on November 19th, 1944 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Byron, Nebraska.  Marla was confirmed on March 22nd, 1959 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Byron, Nebraska. Marla attended school in Chester and graduated May 23rd, 1963. She has been a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Hebron, NE since 1988.

Marla was married to Myron Gehle June 30th, 1963, to this union was born four children. Monte Joel Gehle, Mylan Jeff Gehle, Michael James Gehle, and Misty Joy Gehle.

Marla married Delton B Braithwait, November 9th, 1989. They shared many good years together.

Marla faced many challenges in her life but no matter what she faced she held strong to her faith. Most important to her were her children, she cherished the time spent with them. She also enjoyed gardening, and making things grow.

She was preceded in death by parents Edwin & Ruby, son Monte Gehle, and infant granddaughter, Mickala Rene’e Gehle.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Delton Braithwait of Hebron, NE; sons Mylan Gehle and wife Becky of Republic, KS; Michael Gehle and wife Tammy of Hardy, NE; and daughter Misty Gehle and companion Paul Fechtmeister of Laramie, WY; daughter-in-law, Rita Gehle of Chester, NE; grandchildren Amanda Gehle of New York, NY; Brandon Gehle and fiancé Tonya Cruz of Chester, NE; Heather Gehle of Hebron, NE, Seth Gehle of Hardy, NE, Christian Lambert of Belleville, KS; great-grandchildren, Kailyn, Kinslie and Caleb Gehle and Tatiana Cruz; Khloe and Kegan (Lambert) Keeling along with her four siblings, nieces; nephews; cousins and many dear friends.

A small funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE  on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 10 AM. Officiant will be Pastor Greg Schaffer.  Visitation will be public 2-6 PM Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron, NE. Organist will be Cheryl Walsh congregational hymns “In the Garden”, “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace”. Pallbearers are Greg Hobelmann, Matt Hobelmann, Timothy Bohling, Ryan Reinke, Tony Braithwait, and Brad Braithwait.  Interment will be at the Chester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to Faith Lutheran Church, 420 Charles Road, Hebron, NE 68370.
