Gertrude was born Novenber 5, 1917 at Shickley, NE the daughter of William and Margaret (Erthum) Reinsch. She departed this life on February 23, 2006 at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron, NE at the age of 88 years.

Gertrude was baptized at St. Mary's Church in Shickley, NE she attended grade school in the Shickley area and graduated from Geneva High School with the class of 1935. On April 15, 1936 Gertrude was united in marriage to John Dondlinger at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Shickley, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of six children, four sons and two daughters. John and Gertrude made farming their lives work

Gertrude was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron, Ne, a member of St. Ann's Altar Society past president from 1966-1967. She enjoyed quilting making as many as 85 quilts, which she proudly gave as presents to her family. She also enjoyed playing bridge in several clubs, watching the Price Is Right, and Wheel Of Fortune, working the Jumbo in the Lincoln Journal Star paper, reading, gardening especially flowers. Gertrude received a special blessing from the Pope. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and her friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John on April 29, 2003, son William and great-grandson Kurt Schumacher, sisters Marguerite Getza and Viola Stengel, brothers Clarence, Edward, Herbert and Wayne Reinsch.

Survivors 3 sons John Charles Dondlinger and wife Bonnie of Shickley, NE; Dennis Dondlinger and wife Juanita of Grand Island, NE; Dr.Steven Dondlinger and wife Terry of Edina, MN; daughters Marlyn Vossler and husband Herbert of Glendale, AZ; Janie Hadsall and husband Richard of Santa Clarita, CA; 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, sisters; Jeanette Schommer of Lincoln, NE, Joanne Haufle of Crete, NE, Patrica Burke of Sutton, NE, brothers; Francis Reinsch of Geneva, NE, Merle Reinsch of Shickley, NE, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held this Monday February 27, 2006 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shickley, NE, officiant Father Thomas McGuire, organist Carol Grote, acolyte Dale Stengel, lectors, Darcie Girmus and Terri Trissell, congregational hymns "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee", and On Eagles Wings", soloist David Claus singing "Our Father", and "Ave Maria", a rosary service will be held on Sunday Feb. 26, 7:30 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron, NE, interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Shickley, NE. Hebron Memorial Funeral Home of Hebron, NE is in charge of arrangements.
