Ervin Cord Christoph Lunzmann the son of Gustav and Ella (Asche) Lunzmann was born April 23, 1928 on a farm northwest of Byron, NE. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler, NE at the age of 92 years.

He was baptized by Pastor C.W. Seybold on May 6, 1928 and confirmed October 24, 1943 by Pastor L. Hoefer. His confirmation verse was “My son gave me thin heart and let thine eyes observe my ways” both at St. Peter Lutheran Church near Byron, NE.

He went through the 8th grade at the Moran Country School.

Ervin was united in marriage to Helen Brockmann on August 11, 1963 at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, NE by Pastor J. Leige. The couple made there home on a farm northwest of Byron where he was born. This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters Alice and Judy.

Ervin farmed all of his life until he retired.

He enjoyed his children and grandchildren, farming, raising livestock, and playing cards.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church near Byron and served on the church council several times.

The couple moved to Deshler, NE in 2002 and moved their membership to Peace Lutheran Church in 2010.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Lenore Lunzmann, and Irene Poppe.

He is survived by his wife Helen of Deshler, daughters; Alice Anderson and husband Jeff of Hastings, NE and Judy Donner of Deshler, NE, grandchildren; Dustin and Kelly Anderson of Fairbury, NE, Stephanie Anderson of Hastings, and Kimberly Bargen of Kearney, NE, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE. Officiant Pastor Joe Love, organist Julia Pohlmann, congregational hymns “Lord Take My Hand”, “Amazing Grace”, and “My Faith Looks Up To Thee”, casket bearers; Dustin Anderson, Kimberly Bargen, Stephanie Anderson, Donald Wurm, Kenneth Poppe, and Rick Fayle, visitation will be Friday, November 27 from 2 PM to 6 PM at Kroll Funeral Home in Deshler, NE.
