Dick Wayne Templin of Hebron, NE the son of Lee and Gladys (Degenhardt) Templin was born April 18, 1940 in Hebron, NE. He departed this life Saturday, August 19, 2023 at his home in Hebron with his family at his side at the age of 83 years.

Dick was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church. He grew up on the farm attending country school District 33 K-8 and graduated from Hebron High School with the class of 1957.

He married Sue Buhl October 29, 1961 at the Christian Church in Hebron, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of three children.

Dick was a farmer all of his life, out in God’s great creation. He loved animals, raising cattle, hogs, milking cows, hatching chicks, and playing with his kittens and puppies. His black angus cattle herd was his lifetime joy. His favorite horse, “Tops” , was his buddy. He liked to hitch “Tops” to his buggy and take his dog on a ride around the section. He farmed all of his life with his dad Lee, and brother Don, and later with his son Brad.

He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Hebron, and member of the Thayer County Feeders Association.

Spending time with his family was very important especially with the grandchildren, and teaching them many ornery things they shouldn’t do. He spent many hours attending grandkids ball games and enjoyed visiting with everyone around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lee & Gladys, sister Roma Posey and husband Jim, sister in-law Marilyn Templin, and brother-in-law Allen Fry.

He is survived by his wife Sue of Hebron, NE, son Brad and fiance Kelly of Hebron, daughters Becky Robertson and husband Mark of Lincoln, NE, and Lori Schardt and husband Dale of Carleton, NE. Grandchildren, Maggie Robertson of Bellevue, NE, Hannah Kaupa and husband Jack of Omaha, NE, Logan Schardt and wife Desi of Deshler, NE, Shelby Farnstrom and husband Hayden of Hebron, NE, Carlee Dlouhy and husband Kyle of Fort Calhoun, NE, Riley Templin of Henderson, NE and Luke Templin of Hebron, NE. Great-grandchildren, Bryndal, Aspen, and Avery Schardt, Kalli Farnstrom, and Natalie Dlouhy, brother Don Templin of Hebron, NE, sister Norma Fry of Lincoln, NE, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the Hebron Methodist Church in Hebron, NE at 10:30 AM. Officiant will be Pastor Brian Faust, organist Brenda Striggow, soloist Jamie Luttrell singing “Hallelujah”, recorded selection “In This Life I Was Loved First By You”, visitation will be Monday, August 21, 2023 3-7 PM at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron, with family greeting from 5-7 PM. Pallbearers are representing Dicks friends that have passed.
