Dale Eugene Baden of Alexandria, NE the son of Christoph and Ella (Schmidt) Baden was born April 20, 1951 on a farm west of Hebron, NE. He passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the age of 68, surrounded by his family in his home due to complications from cancer.

He was the seventh of 11 brothers and sisters. When he was five years old, the family moved to a farm near Stoddard, NE. There he attended country school District 93 through 8th grade. During high school he worked for Hested’s in downtown Hebron. He graduated from Hebron High School with the class of 1969.

After graduation Dale worked at Reinke Manufacturing helping in the production of center pivots. In 1971 he was drafted into the United States Army. On May 19, 1971 he graduated from basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and began AIT in Fort Gordon, GA to train as an MP. He served the remainder of his two years as an MP at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora, CO.

Dale was united in marriage to Nancy Ream on February 14, 1976. He gained a son Jamie in marriage and the marriage was blessed with a son Shawn on April 28, 1977.

For several years Dale ran a mechanic shop in Hubbell, NE repairing cars. After that he moved on to working for the Thayer County Roads Department, first as a road dragger and then as a mechanic.

Wanting to provide a better life for his family, Dale began constructing Reinke Irrigation center pivots with his brother Gary. He did this for several years before starting his own business, Dale Baden Service, to continue the same type of work.

Dale had a lifelong love for cars. He loved hot rods and muscle cars and owned many throughout his life, always recalling a 1966 Chevelle SS 396 as his favorite.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Christoph and Ella Baden, brother-in-law Darrell Bice, sister-in-law Nancy Baden, nephew Charles "Chuck" Baden, and niece Deanne Bice.
