Cheryle Ann Wiedel of Hebron, NE, the daughter of Jack and Hazel (Jones) Paugh, was born June 11, 1946 in Lexington, NE. She departed this life Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln, NE at the age of 73 years.
Cheryle attended grade schools in Washington, Arizona and Montana, but grew up mostly in Hebron attending school and graduating from Hebron High School with the class of 1965.
She married Jack Wiedel July 17, 1965 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of three children.
Cheryle, for 30 years, was busy helping on the farm taking care of the bookkeeping and helping out where needed besides raising three children.
She later worked for Hintz Craft and Cheese and Jim McKernan before going to work for Thayer County Health Services in Hebron with health information services until her retirement.
Cheryle was a member of the Eastern Star, enjoyed painting with watercolors, reading, crafts, puzzles, but most of all spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Jack Paugh, Jr., one sister Jody Lomax, and one brother in-law, Sonny Benavides.
She is survived by one daughter Dawn Wiedel and wife Rhonda Henning of Hebron, NE; her sons Michael Wiedel and partner Humphrey of Chicago, IL, and Jerrod Wiedel and wife Haley of Hebron, NE; two sisters, Sandra Carbonneau and husband Jim of Hebron, and Tana Benavides of Corpus Christi, TX; one brother James Paugh and wife Alta of Hebron and one sister-in-law, Teresa Paugh of Rock Springs, WY, and grandchildren; Jay Henning and wife Jen of Simpsonville, KY, Kari Pester and husband Ron of Sellersburg, IN, Koti Wiedel of Hebron, NE, and one great-grandchild; Alexandra Fintel and husband Leighton of Lincoln, NE, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial services will be Monday, February 10, 2020 at Kroll Funeral Home Chapel in Hebron, NE at 11AM. Officiant will be Father Rudy Oborby, organist Carlece Kenner with congregational hymns “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art”. Honorary casket bearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchild.
