Cara Lee Braun formerly of Hebron, NE the daughter of Dana and Gladys (Edzards) Morse was born November 24, 1933 in Crete, NE. She departed this life Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams, NE at the age of 86 years.

Her family were members of the United Methodist Church in Douglas where she was baptized and confirmed.

Cara Lee grew up in Douglas, NE attending school and graduating from Douglas High School with the class of 1953. After graduation she continued her education attending Peru State College receiving a two year teaching certificate. She went to work teaching in Shickley, NE and Hebron.

On February 14, 1957 she was united in marriage to Charles Braun at the Methodist Church in Douglas, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of four children.

After her marriage, the couple resided on a farm near Hebron to make their home. They farmed most all of their lives.

She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron helping with numerous activities or wherever needed.

Cara Lee was a great cook and baker always trying to make special dishes for her children. She was family oriented, she loved spending time with her children especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed making decorated birthday cakes, sewing and making clothes for her children and the grandkids, and cooking a meal just for fun for some friend that needed a little help.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Chuck in 2004, one infant son, Michael, brother Winston, and sisters-in-law Beverly and Donna, brothers-in-law Loren Ahlrichs and Gerd Rauschenberg.

She is survived by son Dan Braun and wife Debbie of Raymore, MO, daughters Sharon Egger and husband Dennis of Hickman, NE and Lisa Yager and husband Joe of Omaha, NE, grandchildren Brady Egger and wife Megan of Roca, NE, Stacey Johnson and husband Bryce of Overland Park, KS, Andrew Braun and wife Erika of Kansas City, MO, Aaron Braun and wife Jillian of Greenwood, MO, Dillon Jessen, Kendra Jessen, Jared Jessen, Logan Yager and Jackson Yager all of Omaha, NE, great-grandchildren; Rhett, Ellie, and Reid Egger, Aden Johnson, Macon, and Monroe Braun, Brooklyn and Jeremiah Jessen, sister Ruth Ahlrichs of Overland Park, KS, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be held Monday, August 17, 2020 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE at 1:30pm. Officiants Pastor Keith Brozek, and Hospice Chaplin Sharon Schuster of Beatrice Community Hospital in Beatrice, NE. Special music by Sharon Schuster. Visitation will be Sunday August 16, 2020 at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron from 2-6 pm with family greeting friends 4:30 – 6 pm. Casket bearers will be grandchidren. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery Hebron, NE. Memorials in care of the family are designated to Grace Lutheran Church and Assisted Living in Hebron, NE.
