Bonnie Jean Head the daughter of Peter and Vida (Jewell) Harrison was born May 12, 1920 in Hebron, NE. She departed this life Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Blue Valley Lutheran
Nursing Home in Hebron at the age of 98 years.
Bonnie grew up in Hebron attending school and graduated from Hebron High School with the class of 1937. She continued her education at Cotty Womens College for two years and the
University of Nebraska for one year.
While visiting her aunt in Colorado Springs,CO she met Thomas Head who was stationed there in the Army Air Corp. They were married August 1943 in San Antonio, TX, Tom’s final military posting. This union was blessed with the birth of three children.
At the end of WWII, Thomas’ work as a petroleum geologist, moved them frequently to seven different states and twice to Canada. In this adventurous life style, that Bonnie truly loved, she raised their three children.
Throughout her life Bonnie was involved in countless community projects helping other people and was an active member of the Episcopal Church. Upon retirement, Tom and Bonnie moved back to Hebron, living in her parents home where she grew up and continued her community activities with many projects such as developing Arrowhead Gardens, serving as a safe home for women, planting an orchard and being active members of St. Davids Epicscopal church of Fairbury.
Bonnie loved being back in Hebron. She had classmates and many old friends. Spending time together was a great pleasure. Her biggest joy in her life was her family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Tom.
She is survived by son; Thomas H. Head and wife Thayer of Blairmore Alberto, Canada, and
Alan Head of Milwaukee, daughter Lisa Ann Sutton and husband Richard of Lincoln, NE, Grandchildren Sarah Head and husband Bill Fisher of Lethbridge, Alberto, Stephanie Head and husband Andre Mersereau of Ottawa, Canada, Micah Sutton of Lincoln, NE and Reid
Sutton of Durango, CO, Great-Grandchildren; Jack Mersereau, and Walter Fisher, and friends.
Memorial service will be Monday, January 14, 2019 at Blue Vallley Lutheran Nursing Home Chapel in Hebron, NE at 2pm. Officiant will be Gretchen Naugle. Memorial to The Humane Society. Condolences may be left at www.krollfh.com. Inurnment at Carleton Cemetery. Kroll
