Annette Marie Laber was born October 26, 1938 in Hebron, Nebraska, the daughter of Robert and Anna(Finke)Talbott. She was the younger of two siblings. She passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 peacefully in her sleep at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron at the age of 83 years.
Annette, at the age of ten moved to Loveland Colorado with her family. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1957. August 11, 1957 she married Henry Laber from Longmont Co.
Annette worked at several establishments, Waddle Engraving, Boulder County Extension, USDA Farm Service Agency, National Honey Board, Paul’s Antiques and Niwot Elementary. She enjoyed being the leader of the Snip'Stitch'Nibble and Knit 4-H Club and being part of the Brownies, and Girls Scouts in Longmont. She volunteered as coordinator of the Boulder County Fair Open Class Creative Arts, active with the Longmont Historical Society, Thayer Historical Society and Annette was a member of the Belvidere Women's club.
She enjoyed going to Chimney Rock Wyoming Arrowhead hunting. Spent many hours at antiques shops looking for different treasures and showing her family what was real and what was fake. Her cooking was legendary to the family with her cookies, noodles, canning, and she always made sure the home-made German sausage was just right. The long days traveling with her sister discovering the history of the family’s and building family trees back to the roots in Europe. The days working on the farm with her chickens making sure she had fresh eggs for cooking and helping drive the trucks when it came time for silage season to feed the cattle the family raised.
Henry and Annette retired from their Longmont Farm to Hebron where they restored their vintage home, planted Irises of every color, she enjoyed tending to the strawberries and raspberries in the garden where she turned them into the most wonderful jams and jellies.
Annette is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Claire and her husband Emil Mares.
She survived by her loving husband Henry, son Michael and his wife Teri Jo Laber of Longmont CO., daughter Kim and her husband Roger Dicamillo of Delta CO, grandchildren, Heath and BreAnne Laber of Brighton Co., David and Melissa Laber of Riverton WY., Melissa and Jessie Vroman of Silt CO., Tyler and Abby Dicamillo of Brighton CO. and seven great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Waylon, Sophia, Olivia, Amelia, Novalee and Bailey.
A celebration of Annette's life will be held on Monday January 17th, 2022, at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron at 11:00 a.m. Officiant will be Pastor Kim Dunker, recorded hymns by Alan Jackson: “Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “Old Rugged Cross”. No visitation. Honorary pallbearers: Annette's grandchildren Heath, David, Melissa and Tyler. Memorials in care of the family will be given to Thayer County Museum and Belvidere Women’s Club.
