Alvina Eva Nuding of Geneva, NE formerly Hebron was the daughter of Herman John and Linda A. (Naiman) Egbarts was born November 27, 1919 in Gilead, NE. She departed this life Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Heritage Care Center in Geneva, NE at the age of 103 years.

Alvina was baptized December 21, 1919 by Pastor Zagel at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gilead, NE.

She married Obit Nuding on May 27, 1940 in Reno, NV. This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters.

The couple lived in California until moving back to Nebraska in 1943 to start farming. They lived in the Gilead and Hebron area. They moved off the farm to an acreage on the southwest edge of Hebron in 1979. Later in 1995 they moved into town.

Alvina was a farm wife helping her husband where ever she was needed. In 1960 she went to work at Thayer County Hospital in Hebron as a nurse aid for over 35 years.

She was member of the several extension clubs one being the Hackney Extension Club, she was a member of several card clubs while living on the farm, and later belonged to a coffee club.

Alvina enjoyed being around people but the real joy of her life was her family especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended many of her grandchildren’s school activities.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Obit, brothers; Leslie, Robert and Harold Egbarts, sisters Helen Schoen and husband Lawrence, Elinor Mayberry and husband William, and Darlene Bohling and husband Dale, two son-in-laws; Richard Meyer and Norman Medina and one granddaughter.

She is survived by two daughters; Wanda Meyer of Geneva, and Linda Medina of Fairbury, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, 1 great-great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 13, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church Friedensau, NE (rural Hebron) at 10:30 AM. Officiant will be Pastor Jose Flores, organist Lois Pohlmann, congregational hymns “Amazing Grace”, “Heaven Is My Home”, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”, casket bearers will be the grandchildren, great-grandchildren will be honorary casket bearers, memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedensau, NE or Heritage Care Center in Geneva, NE. Condolences may be left at www.krollfh.com. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hebron, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron, NE 2-6PM.
