     Wilma Gertrude Christian of Hebron was born January 10, 1940 in Hebron, NE to William and Marjorie (DeMilt) Kassebaum. She departed this life Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Blue Valley Lutheran Care Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 78.

     Wilma was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron in 1940 and confirmed in Seward, NE at St. John’s Lutheran Church in 1955.

     Wilma grew up in Hebron attending school and graduating from Hebron High School with the class of 1958.

    Wilma married Clifford Christian March 4, 1962 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of three children.

    She worked at Thayer County Memorial Hospital in housekeeping and in laundry. She cooked for the Ruskin School, Deshler School, she also cooked every summer for vacation bible school at Peace Lutheran in Deshler, she also worked at the Davenport Telephone Office.

     Wilma enjoyed attending the Thayer County Fair. She judged the flowers for over 35 years.

     She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE, Deshler American Legion Auxiliary, Sunny South Extension Club, Sunday school teacher, and bible school teacher.

     Wilma's interests included quilting, making crafts and selling them at different shows. Most of all spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cliff, step mom Jaunita Kassebaum, three grandchildren; Brett Christian, Jason and Justin Rogers, and nephew Noel Kassebaum.

     She is survived by two sons; Scott Christian of Wellfleet, NE and Kevin Christian and wife Jessica of Hebron, NE one daughter Kathy Nolan and husband David of Sedgwick, KS, brothers Eldon Kassebaum and wife Judy of Hebron, Alfred Boyd of Chesepeke Bay, VA, sister Marsha Beddoe and husband Don of Bradenton, FL, grandchildren; Amber Stout and life partner Ronnie Risley of Queen Creek, AZ, April Cochran and husband Ryan of North Platte, NE, Angela Christian and fiance Scott Dulin of Hershey, NE, Ashleith Mugrage and husband Justin of Delta, AK, Brandon Nolan and wife Becky of Springfield, AR, Bethany Blair and husband Kevin of London, AR, Brittany Rogers and husband Brent of Wichita, KS, Benjiman Nolan and wife Brittany of Leavenworth, KS, Chevez Christian and wife Breya of Lincoln, NE, Timmin Christian and fiance Kallie Devnich of Lincoln, NE, and Colby Klaus of Hebron, NE, 17 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

     Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE at 10AM. Officiant will be Pastor Rich Stevenson, organist Julia Pohlmann, congregational hymns “Hark The Herald Angels Sing”, “In The Garden” and “Silent Night”, soloist Brandon Nolan singing “Living Hope”, visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2019 at Kroll Funeral Home in Deshler, NE 2-7PM, burial will be Belvidere Cemetery.
