Ronald Lee Tinkham of Hebron, NE the son of Eugene and Marie (Helvey) Tinkham was born February 18, 1931 in Alexandria, NE. He departed this life Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Blue Valley Lutheran Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 87 years.

Ronnie grew up in the Carleton area attending school and graduating from Carleton High School. After graduation, Ron worked for area farmers before enlisting in the United States Army March 28, 1952 to March 26, 1953, serving during the Korean Conflict specializing as a paratrooper and demolition expert.

After returning home, he went to work for Nebraska Public Power District in 1956 out of the Superior, NE office and in 1968 moved to Hebron to manage the NPPD office. He retired in 1991.

Ronnie married Valora Braun December 4, 1952 in Carleton, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of three children.

Ron joined Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron on July 28, 1968 serving on the church council and as an usher. He was also a past member of the Hebron Lions Club, Hebron Rotary Club, Hebron Volunteer Fire Department and Hebron Country Club.

Spending time outside in God’s great creation was one of Ron’s favorite pastimes, hunting in different parts of the country, fishing trips to South Dakota and numerous places teaching his grandchildren the sport of fishing and hunting, playing cards, cribbage and pitch, woodworking building bird houses, but most of all spending time with his family especially the grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Valora in 1986 and sister Shirley Keim.

He is survived by daughter Rhondason Shearer and husband Larry of Springboro, OH, son Mike and wife Lori of Kearney, NE, and daugher Rochelle Jackson and husband Rick of Sutherland, NE, grandchildren; Michala Miihlbach and husband Alex of Taylor, NE, Melissa Makey and husband Casey of Seward, Nathanael Tinkham of Overland Park, KS, Meghan Tinkham of Orlando, FL, Travis Jackson and wife Abby of Lincoln, Amber Hilligas and husband Matt of Grand Island, Michael Shearer and wife Denise of Omaha, and Brandon Shearer of Springboro, OH, great-grandchildren; Jarret, Adaya, Jubal, and Austin Miihlbach, Jase, Mya and Clara Makey, Rory and Bo Jackson, Banks and Parker Hilligas, Kate, Rhett, and Lauren Shearer, and Jocelynn Shearer, nieces, nephews and friends.
