Mildred Matilda McGhghy the daughter of Henry and Martha (Brettmann) Bethke was born

September 1, 1929 by Davenport, NE. She departed this life Thursday, January 26, 2017 at

Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 87 years.

Mildred was baptized September 22, 1929 at Zion Lutheran Church in Carleton, NE and confirmed

at Kiowa Lutheran Church in April of 1943 near Davenport, NE.

Mildred grew up in the Kiowa,Davenport area and attended Kiowa school.

Mildred was united in marriage to Clarance McGhghy April 5, 1953 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in

Davenport. This union was blessed with the birth of two sons.

Mildred worked as a housekeeper for 25 years at the Hebron Hospital and the Hebron Clinic, and the Wayfarer Motel.

She enjoyed quilting, handwork, working in her flower garden, but enjoyed spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarance, son Larry McGhghy and wife Sheri, brothers Albert(infant), Melvin and wife Hertha, and Harold and wife Lorene, sister Velma and husband Gus Harms.

Mildred is survived by her son Gary McGhghy and wife Sue, grandchildren are Michelle Stenka and Garren of Valley, NE, Jason McGhghy of Aurora, NE, Andy McGhghy of Hebron, NE, Thomas McGhghy and Amber of Lincoln, NE, Kaylie McGhghy of Lawrence, KS. 6 Great-grandchildren Paul, Averi and Faith Stenka, Jaymes Glaze, Ethaniel and Gabriel McGhghy, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be Monday, January 30, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedensau (rural Hebron) at 11 AM. Reverend James Moll will be officiating, organist Lois Pohlmann congregational hymns “Beautiful Savior”, “Rock Of Ages”, and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus, visitation will be Sunday from 2pm to 7pm at Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron. Casket bearers; Jamon Harms, Justus Harms, Jordan Harms, Garren Stenka, Jason McGhghy, and Tom McGhghy, honorary casket bearers; Andy, Kaylie, Ethaniel, Gabriel, and Amber McGhghy, Michelle, Paul, Averi, and Faith Stenka, and Jaymes Glaze.
